About Me!

In terms of art, I feel as if I am a magpie,  gathering shiny pockets of inspiration and collecting them to fit together in my nest of  knick-knacks. My nest is a hoard, a multi-media agglomerate, whose reflections hit a glare in my eye at some point in life ranging from when I grew up in Minnesota, to now, living in NYC. These novelties span wide in their origin: they could be a grimey graffiti street tag, a solitary 70-year old tree thriving in a concrete city park, or a bucket drummer trying to make their living in the subway. What is most important about these experiences is that they must make me pause and think: to truly stop for a moment in this endlessly moving city and reflect. The ability of this object, sound, or person, to simply incite quiescence is enough for me to snatch it up for my misfit library that I can later compose into metaphorical collages. In that aspect, my work, which is mostly digital graphic and website design, feels like a collaboration between me and the glittering sources that give me inspiration. This is where the content of my work derives. Endlessly, I come back to make unexpected connections and creations with the trinkets I have gathered in my varied scavenges.
